Today was a travel day, and a rain day unfortunately. We only drive 46 miles to the Fogo Island Ferry terminal, expecting the to wait a few hours for a ferry, but with luck, the 10:30 ferry was over an hour late. We only wait about 30 minutes to board the ferry to Fogo Island. Once on the island Two ferries away from the mainland, we trek across the island in search of a good boondock spot. We stopped at the visitor center for some inside info, then we head down the road. We avoid Fogo camp ground as we don't like RV parks, we find a spot in Joe Batt's Arm, but it already had a couple RV's and was small and crowded municipal park. We unhook the Jeep and drive farther down the road to Tilting Cove another target boondock spot. Score! we find an empty beach spot and we nose up to the beach in the cove with our buddies that are with us. One other camper came in, but we had the best spots on the cove. Now if the sun would just come out tomorrow it will be perfect. No hikes, no adventures today, just a travel day in Newfoundland and another Ferry ride. A local did drop by, Roy Dwyer, a NL writer and story teller, (said so on his magnetic door sign on his pickup). Roy showed us his books, he even read us a poem from one, a real local Newfie. So we bought a couple :)
