Today we did an off trail hike near mile marker 21. We hiked along a creek, then up to the top of a ridge where we spotted Caribou and Moose with baby in tow running across the field to Sanctuary creek. The hike was only 3 miles but was difficult due to no trail. we bushwhacked through the shrubs and then in the valley we sloshed through some very spongey tundra. The tundra hike was like walking in knee deep snow. We had some great views of the valley from the top of the ridge. the blueberries were abundant so we picked a bowl full.
