Day 64: On to Williwaw

Today was a travel day. 180 mile ride to Williwaw Campground just outside of Whittier this side of the tunnel. I like this campground because it has a nice boardwalk trail, salmon viewing area, and access to no less than 4 glaciers, Byron, Portage, Middle, and Explorer Glaciers. It also has some great hiking trails, Moose Flats, Blue Ice, and some off shoots as well. We hope to kayak to Portage glacier if the rain lets up but it is not looking good with rain in the forecast everyday. (Insert sad emoji, exclamation). The route from Homer to Williwaw backtracked through Nilnichick where they just finished up a 3 day music fest called "SalmonFest" which we missed. Then, back through Seldotna, Cooper Landing, and Swan Lake. Actually Swan lake (My name), is called Tern Lake. Two swans and baby swans are always there, so I call it Swan Lake. We stop at Swan lake for lunch then on to Williwaw. We arrive late only to find some low hanging branches and bad Sky view for Starlink, so we scout the park and find another site with open sky. Badaboom, starlink works here, we get our fix of internet for the next couple days as their is NO cell service here. Thank you Starlink.
