Sachuest Point Beach |
Today was a travel day, but first, last minute things needed doing. Yoli drove to town while I buttoned up the RV for travel day. Yoli was still shopping so I biked to the beach about 11am. Many people were arriving at the beach as it was a beautiful sunny day. A bit cold if you ask me to be rubbing sun tan lotion at the beach. I enjoyed the people watch as they came and looked for that perfect spot on the beach. Most were young kids, I figured out of school and not in the work crowd yet. Then there were a few me types, retired, and enjoying the sun in their golden years hoping for a golden New England tan. We headed out just after noon for a 185 mile drive to Portland Maine. We had to get around the Boston loop and we hit a lot of traffic from 2-3pm, the price of hanging late, shopping, and beach biking. We made it to our destination, Bayley's RV resort, and quite a large place with more than 700 sites, three swimming pools and biking distance to Orchard Beach. We set up camp, did a short bike ride around the park, still early in the season as it is only half full, but this weekend, it will be full with memorial day upon us.
