Day 59x: St. John's NFLD

Brewskies at Qiuidi Vidi Brewery

St. John's is the capital of Newfoundland and the biggest city of Newfie's on the rock. Census shows 115,000 people live here and it feels like a real city, but without highways or any structure of roads. Its 500 years old and no planning was done as it expanded, so getting from one side of town to the other traverses several side streets and urban living areas. The night life on water street is the spot for entertainment and food. They shut down the street July and August and people walk water street and harbor street for food and fun. We met up with a fellow camper that we met in Mexico that belongs to our camping club Xscapee's. We meetup at Quidi Vidi Brewery for live folk music and a beer. Yes, I had a beer, they had plenty to choose from, I got the sweetest and lightest one they brew, and was able to drink the whole thing, of course I only had one. We made plans to hike out to Cape Spear light house tomorrow and maybe some time on water street. We drove out to Signal Hill for a sunset and night view of the city before heading back to Pippy Park Campground where we are staying.
