We planned to stay at Cavendish for 4 nights, but due to lack of view, too many people, not very nice beaches, we pulled up stakes, got a refund on two nights and headed west. Our target was Cape Egmont lighthouse where it showed to be some good boondocking if we could make it down the half mile dirt road. We did, and it was gorgeous. We pulled right out onto the cliff just past the lighthouse and we had 270 degree views of ocean. We could see water out of our front, left and right windows and the lighthouse behind us. The sunset was absolutely beautiful. No wind, no rain, lots of sunshine and 72 degrees. It was a perfect afternoon and evening. Just before dinner, we unhooked the jeep and drove a mile or so back to the Bottle houses that were built in the 80's by a guy that dreamed it up and 25,000 bottles. The bottle houses also have a beautiful garden wrapped around them with a pond and mock lighthouse with view to the ocean. We headed back to camp on the cape and Yolanda fixed an awesome salmon dinner to perfection as we sat and watched the sunset. The locals even came out in lawn chairs at the point to watch the sun go down. It is/was a most beautiful spot. I think we will stay another night as we have no check out time when we boondock. Life is good, every day is a good day, today was certainly a Gooder Day.
