Day 2: Regatta Point - Tarpon Springs

Today we head to our next stop in Tarpon Springs at Anclote Village Marina. It was a short day with only 52 miles for the day, but we had great weather and seas. The marina was busy, so we anchored out, had lunch, then motored in and tied up in a transient slip for the night. We gobberdf an uber into town and had dinner at Rusty Bellies and it was fantastic. We walked the streets and checked out all the Greek places and sponges as this place is known for its natural sponge business.

Day 1: The Journey Begins

Today we cast off the lines to leave Fort Myers under beautiful blue skies. First stop was Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda for Fuel. A short hop of 35 miles in the bay and ICW. We met up with Dean and Gina our old neighbors in Grapevine that moved to Punta Gorda a couple years ago. We skipped lunch and a good thing, it took us longer than expected to travel the 70 miles to Tarpon Springs to arrive after they closed. Dock master came out and got us slotted in a slip next to the fuel dock so all was good and had a good day on the water in open ocean with less than 2ft seas.

Day 0-1: Prep Time

Marinemax Ft. Myer FL

We are moving the boat from Fort Myers to Luka MS for the summer. So we need to prep the boat and get it ready for the 1000 mile trip across the Gulf of America and up through Mobile Bay and the Tom Bigbee waterway to Pickwick lake. Yoli will not be making the long trip, Alan will have Tom, Frank, and Don crew to Mobile. Trip north TBD as we can secure crew to assist. We spend one last weekend on the water in Fort Myers FL, before the adventure begins May 14th. Our first stop was at Burnt Store Marina for fuel where we met up with our old Grapevine neighbors Dean and Gina that now live in Punta Gordo.
